Renewable Cosplay Costume Materials

Sometimes, it is expensive for some people to buy a new cosplay costume. To solve the problem and meet the needs of more people, we can reuse some cosplay items to save costs. We can get our ideal cosplay costumes to highlight our advantages in this way. We can reuse the cosplay items from three parts: wigs, shoes and outfits.

Wig is an easy item to reuse. When we cosplay someone with a natural hair color, there often have hundreds of other characters with that exact same cosplay hairstyle and length that we can choose to cosplay at the next time. In this way, we can not only creat our preparation space, but save us cost we are going to spend on other things.

Shoe is another reasible item. If we are going to cosplay someone from Naruto, in which we all know that 95% of the characters wear the same shoes, we can adopt its advantage to organize several Naruto cosplays. Sometimes, the high school shoes are better. In this way, we can wear the same shoes for various cosplays.
Outfit is a little trickier. Many outfits are very character specific, and is what really makes us recognizable. If we do not have a entire outfit, we can be able to pick apart some things and reuse them. An easy example is something like L’s plain white shirt- very simple, and not only good for non-cosplay wear, but generic enough that it is easy to reuse should the need arise.

Cosplay

Cosplay is a term that originated in Japan and is based on the English words “Costume Play”, essentially play with costumes.

In Japan, cosplay is not only limited to anime or manga, but also a staple of many other entertainment industries, such as science fiction and horror. In North America, the term cosplay is reserved for animes related costume.

It is common for cosplay to be divided into two categories: basic cosplay and masquerade. Basic cosplay is related to a particular character, either in the hall of a convention or on a stage. Masquerade is another character. They often prepared skits with memorized lines, and the more advanced masqueraders can easily ad-lib their character’s personality.

At present, anime cosplay has become very popular among fans in Japan and North America. Some cosplayers also make their own costumes, investing large numbers of time and money in the process, but others buy their costumes from professional costume designers. The final products can be generally shown off at Anime conventions. Many Anime conventions have contests for Cosplay and Masquerade.

Nowadyas, some successful cosplayers have become very popular and are considered celebrities in their own right.
